SMEEGE, Erasmus+ project field trip to Madrid

From 22 to 26 November 2021, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia organised a professional excursion to Madrid as part of the international Erasmus+ project SMEEGE. Hosted by the International Formation Centre (IFC) in Madrid, the event provided participants from Spain, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Slovenia with a series of interviews, lectures and presentations on secondary, vocational and higher education centres for construction workers and professionals in this field. In Spain, too, there is a serious shortage of certain construction professions, and construction companies are already recruiting in these training centres before the end of the course.

During the four days, we visited the construction training centres of the Vocational Training Centre for Employment in Building and Civil Works, IES Filipinas, the parity social fund mandated for lifelong training of construction workers, Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, IES Antonio Machado.

SMEEGE is an Erasmus+ project, which aims to offer teachers and business leaders the experience of living abroad, by experiencing first-hand the benefits of studying and working in a different social, linguistic and working environment

The event confirmed the idea that mobility can contribute to education, social networking, business networking and excellent communication between stakeholders.

More than 30 participants attended the event. Eleven participants from Slovenia represented the companies ZAG, Areal Invest d.o.o., CPG VG d.o.o., Academia d.o.o. / Marko Kramar architekt s.p., UM FGPA and ŠC Celje.
