Security Engineering

This thesis examines internal security as a key component of the private security system. It first presents the legal framework, which is essential for understanding the field, since all internal security activities derive from legislation.
Legal regulation is defined as the foundation that enables organizations to lawfully and effectively carry out their security tasks. The thesis further explains the importance of internal security within companies, emphasizing why, in certain cases, this form of protection represents the most appropriate solution.
Special attention is given to the role of security personnel, as they directly ensure the safety of employees, property, and business processes. The thesis places particular emphasis on the importance of effective internal security, which is crucial for ensuring employee safety, protecting the company’s tangible and intangible assets, and maintaining overall workplace stability.
Various approaches to the organization of internal security are examined, demonstrating how appropriate security measures can contribute to reducing internal risks, improving the work environment, and increasing employees’ trust in their employer
In the theoretical part, the thesis highlights several positive aspects of internal security, such as a stronger connection between security personnel and other employees, better knowledge of the work environment, and greater efficiency in risk management.
The empirical part focuses on exploring employees’ perceptions of the work of internal security services. Through the research, the aim was to determine how employees evaluate their presence and effectiveness, and whether they feel safer due to their work. The results indicate that most employees show a high level of satisfaction with the work of security staff.
The main objective was to examine the challenges faced by security personnel in their daily work and how these affect the quality of protection, as well as to describe the relevant legislation and define the competencies and standards they are required to meet.
In this way, the thesis seeks to contribute to a better understanding of the importance and value of internal security in modern companies.
