In my thesis, I explored the development of accounting services with a special focus on employee education and development. I believe that employees are the most important resource of any company, as their knowledge, motivation, and willingness to learn significantly influence service quality and the company’s competitiveness.

In Slovenia, there are more than 4,600 registered accounting firms, which means the competition is very strong. This makes continuous employee training essential for successful business operations and growth.

Employee development must be planned and long-term. Annual performance reviews play an important role because they help align employees’ needs and goals with the company’s strategy. Regular education enables employees to keep up with legislative changes, improve their work quality, and avoid mistakes that could cause problems for the company.

Education can be formal (through schools) or non-formal (seminars, workshops, e-learning). Digital skills have become especially important due to the rapid digitalization of accounting.

Digitalization brings many benefits – it enables faster and more efficient work, reduces costs, and supports corporate social responsibility. The COVID-19 pandemic showed that companies that had already introduced digital solutions were able to continue their operations smoothly even during the crisis.

Based on my survey among employees in accounting firms, I found that regular education and employee development have a positive impact on business performance, client satisfaction, and the competitive position of companies.

I conclude that investing in employees, knowledge, and digitalization is the key to the success of a modern accounting service.

Based on these findings, I believe that the future of accounting firms lies in adaptability, openness to change, and continuous learning. Companies that successfully combine professional expertise, modern technologies, and employee satisfaction will have better chances for long-term growth and stability in a competitive market.
