Staff mobility at Academia: Ivan Castellanos, Lecturer at the Technological University of El Salvador
From 24 to 28 January 2022, we were visited by Mr Iván Edilberto Gómez Castellanos, a full-time lecturer from the Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador (UTEC), who has 6 years of university teaching experience at the University of El Salvador, as a 33-year-old lecturer. He responded to the invitation of both our school and the Technological University of El Salvador in the framework of the Erasmus+ KA107 ICM (International Credit Mobility) project for staff mobility for training.
Mr Castellanos came to the Academia with a desire to gain new experience in teaching, to recognise the importance of the practice that every student needs to develop in any career and to develop the competences to be ready for the challenges facing our societies. He believes that many of the institutional processes between Academia and UTEC are similar, not least because both institutions are committed to the success of their students. During his visit to Slovenia, Mr Castellanos gave a guest lecture entitled “Positive Outcomes through Appropriate Digital Communication”, which highlighted the importance of successful digital communication, based on a selected campaign from the university where he teaches. He also visited the Higher Vocational School of Hospitality and Tourism Maribor, where he toured the school’s premises with the school’s director, Ms Tanja Angleitner Sagadin, and spoke about the importance of embracing challenges in education for the betterment of society.
He says that his stay in Slovenia, although short, was very interesting, as he was able to admire Maribor as a traditional yet modern city. He would like to thank the Academia VSŠ and the Universidad Tecnológica de El Salvador for the invitation and for the opportunity to be part of a wonderful experience in Slovenia.
