Nicosia, Cyprus – the perfect location for the Keys!’ 3rd partnership meeting

From 18 to 20 April 2023, Erasmus+ partners of the Keys! project gathered in the unique capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of migration and migration flows in Europe. The Keys! project is co-funded by the EU and brings together 10 partners from 9 countries, including Finland, the Netherlands, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Slovenia, Norway, Spain, and the Netherlands.

The Keys! partnership focuses on migrants and their integration into vocational education, learning, and work, thus contributing to their social inclusion in their new environment. The meeting identified key challenges and 5 key competencies that play an important role in facilitating the integration of migrants. These competencies are:

  1. Literacy,
  2. Digital competences,
  3. STEM competencies (science, technology, engineering, maths),
  4. personal and
  5. social competencies and cultural competencies.

In the coming months, learning materials and practical exercises will be developed for each of the 5 competences to improve the selected competences. A compendium of good practices and recommendations for VET providers on how to support migrants in their learning, practical experience and socialisation processes is being prepared.

All materials will be available free of charge on the Keys! website. The partners concluded the meeting in Cyprus with great satisfaction and are already looking forward to the next meeting in September 2023 in Maribor.
