As part of the Taxes course in the Economist program – Accounting & Finance, we hosted Ms. Anica Horvat, director of the accounting service First d.o.o. in Murska Sobota, one of the largest accounting services in Slovenia, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary next year.

Anica Horvat began her guest lecture by presenting FIRST d.o.o., considered one of the most prestigious accounting services in Slovenia. She emphasized its long tradition and the fact that the company has established itself as a synonym for professionalism, reliability, and innovation in the field of accounting, while simultaneously adapting to modern trends and technological developments, despite its rich history.

She went on to highlight the importance of young staff, who, with their fresh ideas, energy, and diverse perspectives, make a significant contribution to successfully meeting the challenges of the modern accounting environment. She placed particular emphasis on the diversity of the accounting profession and presented a wide range of tasks that accountants encounter in practice, from record keeping and reporting to tax consulting, business analysis, and financial planning. She also pointed out the importance of fast and practical learning.
