Media Production student Taina Cvetko after 6-month exchange in Barcelona

Graphic Design

As part of a six-month international exchange program, Taina Cvetko, a Media Production student, lived and worked in Barcelona from October 2024 to April 2025, gaining valuable professional and personal experience. Living in a multicultural environment allowed her to develop a deeper understanding of Spanish culture, expand her language and interpersonal skills, and gain insight into the functioning of a company in an international context.

She completed her internship at Vision Factory, where she worked on various projects, mostly in the fields of human resources, economics, and general communication. Her tasks included writing articles in English for different online platforms, assisting in the preparation of promotional content, and designing materials for both internal and external use.

One of my key responsibilities was organizing an online campaign to promote the interactive Goya Museum, where I contributed to increasing the company’s visibility and attracting new internship candidates through social media. I worked in a supportive and creative team environment, receiving constructive feedback and actively participating in team projects.

Beyond her professional commitments, Taina made the most of her free time exploring Barcelona. She visited both well-known tourist attractions and lesser-known parts of the city, meeting locals, discovering cultural nuances, and experiencing everyday life in Spain. She was particularly impressed by the city’s diverse culinary scene, from traditional dishes in small family-owned restaurants to international specialties offered throughout the city.

Living in Barcelona also came with certain challenges, such as adapting to a different pace of life (including the siesta system), seeking additional work opportunities, and occasional feelings of insecurity in certain areas of the city. Nevertheless, the positive experiences prevailed: numerous new friendships, cultural exchanges with other interns from across Europe, and daily interactions enriched the experience and gave it added value.

The holiday season was especially memorable, as the city transformed into a festive hub filled with lively street events, concerts, and performances.

The exchange in Barcelona provided me with comprehensive personal growth, broadened my worldview, and contributed significantly to my professional development
