The thesis deals with the existing process of measuring a foundry product and its improvement by developing a fixture designed for simultaneous clamping of a larger number of measured parts.

The purpose of the thesis was to ensure greater accuracy and repeatability of measurements on multiple test pieces simultaneously by appropriately planning and constructing the fixture and creating a new measurement program.

The goal was to perform an analysis of measurement systems based on the manufactured fixture using the new measurement program.

The theoretical part includes descriptions of all methods and programs used to create this thesis and an analysis of fixture and the most commonly used practices for clamping measured parts in industry.

The practical part includes a description and presentation of the requirements that the fixture must meet. The Creo software environment shows the construction of subassemblies required for the final product.

A prototype plastic model is also presented, which was subsequently modified based on the functional test of inserting the measured part. The second practical part includes the creation of a measurement protocol in the PC-DMIS software environment, which was used to obtain measurement results.

These were then processed in the measurement system analysis, where the capability of the measurement system is checked.

The results showed that the designed fixture enables faster, simpler and more accurate clamping, which means saving time and fewer errors when placing the measured parts. By optimizing the new measurement program, we managed to reduce the measurement time of twelve measured parts from 1.75 hours to 1.05 hours.

Four hypotheses were set as part of the thesis, all of which were confirmed by the tests performed and the analysis of the results. A research question was also posed, which was addressed throughout the thesis.

The research emphasizes the importance of introducing modern measurement approaches and automation in industry. By optimizing measurement procedures, the accuracy and repeatability of measurements are improved, while the costs of errors are reduced and production efficiency is increased.

Such improvements contribute to higher product quality and, consequently, greater competitiveness of the company in the market.
