Academia at the PATHS project launch conference in Pécs

On September 23 and 24, 2025, the University of Pécs in Hungary hosted the opening conference of the PATHS (Career Guidance and Pathways for the Danube Region) project, which is being implemented as part of the Interreg Danube Program. The Academia Maribor Higher Vocational College, a partner in the project, also actively participated in the event.
The project brings together 13 partners from 9 countries in the Danube region, who will work together over the next three years to develop innovative approaches to strengthening career guidance systems and improving pathways for pupils, students, and employees. The aim of the project is to create more connected, accessible, and effective career guidance services that respond to the needs of a rapidly changing labor market.
The opening conference presented the key objectives of the project, expected results, and initial activities. Special emphasis was placed on:
- round tables on good practices in career counseling,
- partner discussions on upcoming tasks and cooperation,
- a steering committee meeting to guide the project’s strategic activities.
The program concluded with a study visit and guided tour of the city of Pécs, which gave participants an insight into practical examples of career counseling and an opportunity to learn about the city’s rich cultural heritage.
This marked the official launch of the PATHS project, which aims to contribute to a better future for students and employees throughout the Danube region.
