She is currently an exchange student at the Academia University of Applied Sciences, where she is attending lectures in Photography and Computer Graphics and doing practical training.

I have always wanted to visit distant countries around the world, so the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ program at the Academia University of Applied Sciences in Maribor was not to be missed. It was an experience I will never forget and one that has had a profound impact on my life.

Before coming to Maribor, I was a bit worried about how things would go, as I had never been to Europe before and didn’t know what to expect. However, all my worries disappeared as soon as I arrived. Maribor has a charming old town, picturesque streets and friendly locals. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and I quickly felt accepted.

My experience at Academia was also really rich. I was able to take courses that I would never have had the opportunity to take in Jordan, and to learn about different teaching approaches and methodologies. I also had the chance to network with students from all over Europe, which was a great opportunity for me to learn about different cultures and perspectives.

One of the unforgettable experiences of my Erasmus+ exchange was meeting groups of students from different countries. We decided to visit neighboring countries together, which was a great opportunity for me to explore other countries, experience their culture and meet new people – each with their own story – which broadened my knowledge and understanding of the world.

In addition to the academic and cultural experiences, I also enjoyed many social activities with the students I met. Maribor is a great place for students to have fun, with a number of sporting events and other activities going on all the time.

The warm and welcoming attitude of the Academia staff has greatly improved my exchange experience. From the moment I arrived at the school, I felt like a member of the community. They were very helpful with the enrolment process and responded to all my concerns, making my experience as an international student comfortable and enjoyable. Their kindness and willingness to help made me feel at home and I am grateful for their help and the positive impact they had on my exchange experience.

The Erasmus+ programme in Maribor offered me the opportunity of a lifetime. The cultural, social and academic experiences I have had have enriched me and I would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to participate in the programme to do so. It is a wonderful opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, experience and memories that will last a lifetime.
