Computer sciences

As part of the Programming course in the Computer Science and Computing, we hosted Mr. Blaž Šelih, a senior software developer at Endava with 30 years of experience in programming, currently active in a project under the auspices of FURS.
In his guest lecture, Mr. Šelih introduced students to the daily work of a software developer and shared numerous practical experiences from his workplace. He placed special emphasis on advice for students embarking on a career in software development – from the importance of continuous learning and adaptability to teamwork and responsibility in developing quality code.
The technical part of the lecture focused on the basics of the C++ language, presenting streams, exceptions, and the use of standard libraries. Concrete examples were used to illustrate concepts in real projects and why they are key to stable, readable, and sustainable programming.
