Graphic Design
The topic of my thesis is focused on the media interpretation of future urban dwellings. Within this, I researched the possibilities of incorporating self-sufficiency elements into the urban environment, closely related to the building location, purpose, and improvements that could be made to its design.
As part of my project, I transformed unused spaces into common areas, leading to better use of space. I then upgraded this by using a green facade that cools the building’s interior during the summer months and warms it during winter. Additionally, I installed a rooftop garden that was directly connected to wind and solar power plants, allowing technological advancements to be used within the apartments themselves.
I also included a “smart grid” in the project design, connecting the entire building and allowing the use of a smart home system that eliminates traditional elements of housing. This approach contributed to the project’s sales power, which I further reinforced by using media communications and technological advancements, incorporating them into the vision of the future of real estate sales.
To achieve the desired research goal, I conducted extensive research online and in books, obtaining mixed responses and opinions from residential building residents. The results of the research ranged from fictional genres to the everyday social lives of people as a community.
At the same time, I wonder how sustainable and environmentally friendly design can contribute to solving climate challenges. By focusing on the role of art and design in response to the climate crisis, I hope to contribute to the discussion on how creativity and innovation can contribute to a more sustainable future.
The entire project includes various modifications to existing practices, which I have combined into a future scenario where all of this is possible. I also used the latest technological advancements, incorporating them into product communication, and used self-sufficiency as the main concept in my project.
Finally, there is the aspect of the number of inhabitants who could experience and adapt to this change in living.
